Welcome to the 21st Century!
So here I am to post a long overdue update and to let you fine people of the internets know what I’ve been up to these days… It’s been a long time, but I do believe that there’s good reason for that. Mostly, the fact that I am now a “real person” living in a material world the real world… Which is to say I’m no longer a student.
I’ve been working in sales: tech, specifically… As such, it should come to no surprise that I’ve joined the ranks of the hordes of smartphone users of the world. Something that might be a bit more of a surprise is that I’ve joined the dark side and got… A Windows 7 phone.
I had initially planned to get the Motorola Dext with MotoBLUR, as the concept of a social media centric device intrigued me. As a salesperson and (consequently) a marketer of sorts, it seemed like a good ideafor both personal and professional life… But I later saw the light. At least, my fellow Americans salespeople shined it in my face.
The thing about it ( Motorola Dext) is that they’ve been having certain issues with the OS, and they had been vowing thatthey were going to fix and optimize everything in an update to 2.1… But the update never came and the users became upset and impatient as Motorola kept pushing it back. Eventually, they declared that the updates weren’t working out for them and essentially gave up.
This meant that the Dext is now an abandoned device, fated to never get fixed, and incapable of using newer Android apps. In other words: my dream device is dead to me, and a total dud.
Woe is me… Right? Wrong!
This is when one of my trusted friends/colleagues mentioned the Windows phones. Of course I knew the, and of them, but had never thought of them as a viable option for myself. What I didn’t realize was how well they too will integrate with your Facebook, Twitter or WordPress for that matter.
Which brings me to today, where I write this post on my LG Optimus Quantum.
